Reiki

Reiki is an extremely gentle hands on therapy although it can also be done with the hands slightly off the body. Simply translated Reiki means universal or life force energy.

A Reiki practitioner has been attuned to Reiki by a Reiki master; this means they can channel the universal energy to promote the natural healing process of the body. It affects the body's well-being on all levels; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

A Reiki practitioner is not a healer, they are a facilitator of the Reiki energy, it is the client that uses the energy to initiate healing throughout their body.

The Benefits

There are 7 main chakras, or energy centres in the body. Reiki is a fantastic therapy for unblocking and balancing these chakras to restore harmony and well-being.

  • Helps to balance all aspects of the body

  • Promotes optimum good health and well-being

  • Can develop a sense of inner peace

  • Helps with stress and anxiety

  • Can lead to reduced level of pain

What to expect

  • The therapy takes place on a comfortable massage bed and you will be fully clothed.

  • I will place my hands gently on certain areas of your body that correspond to your energy chakras, there may be points that I have my hands slightly raised from your body.

  • Lie back, relax. It is common for clients to fall asleep or go into a state of deep relaxation.

  • Post-treatment we will have a chat about anything that has come to light during the treatment and I will give appropriate aftercare advice.

  • Follow up appointments will include a quick pre-treatment chat to check on any changes.

  • Your first appointment will include a consultation.
